Sincerely or Snobbery
What a surprise. Our recent city commission meeting was almost like a staged event. My first indication came when a commissioner at the very outset announced he had six letters from citizens who reside in the Plemons Eakle addition. Excuse me, commissioner. At least one of those letter writers has not lived in that neighborhood for several years. Is that an oversight or a lack of due diligence, similar to that used in selecting contractors for the downtown renovation. No matter. The petitions to remove the design standards contain far more signatures in opposition. More important is the attitude of those who spoke in support of the ordinance. One person was overjoyed that the restrictions were better than deed restrictions. Those of us who have lived and purchased property here were hoping to use our property as we see fit and not have undue restrictions placed on us and our property. Add new comment
